Toasting Marshmallows

Toasting Marshmallows

You wouldn't think that in the depths of January you would be having a BBQ but this weekend that is exactly what we did.
Rob was bought some marshmallow toasting skewers by my parents for Christmas so with them sitting on the side I thought it was best to use them.
We have some metal fire bins that Rob lit up and with our marshmallows ready we set to toasting and tasting them. I got some chocolate digestives out as I thought the kids might prefer to sandwich a marshallow between them than try and eat them off the skewer! The reality of it was though that Raph just wanted to toast them all without eating them and Etta just went around eating half of a digestive, putting it back on the tray, then eating half of another. Rob and I did the usual parent 'eat up' and ended up feeling quite sick but they were so delicious and the kids loved the process. We also knocked on our very nice neighbours, Jan & Geoff's door so they could join the fun. It was nice just getting outside together, wrapping up and enjoying January in the garden.
