Wood Slice Wreath

Wood Slice Wreath

If you are looking for an alternative wreath then this could be for you.

I simply got my brother to chainsaw some 2 inch thick slices of wood from some logs my parents had.
We then marked out a circle in the middle to cut out to get the wreath effect. On our first attempt at this Rob drilled lots of holes around the circle that we wanted to cut out then used a chisel and hammer and knocked it out that way. On reflection we think that if you have a Jigsaw with a long saw blade you just need to drill one hole and the cut it with a jigsaw. The first way is effective enough though.
I then applied some gold leaf in a thin line just under the bark. It gives it a bit of sparkle. Then hang with a nice ribbon and bow.

Perfect!
