A Friday Night Worth Sharing! Ft. Comedy Feast

I think for us, as we simply love the city we live in it's so nice to get to something where we have not one single complaint! Recently we have attended a few things locally which have been really wonderful, but haven't had the chance to write about yet, but last night's trip to Lincoln Castle to Comedy Feast's new festival of street food and comedy shows was just so G O O D. I think the weather helped, the sun felt like it was in the sky until 9pm which made a huge difference to our evening, but relaxing inside the gorgeous castle grounds with the festoon lights lit and the sound of funk music playing all added to a really wonderful evening with the kids and my parents.
This was a pretty impromptu trip. We had tickets to just get us into the food part and not the comedy shows. We wanted to see some but by the time we tried they had sold out, but getting into the castle grounds to all the street food only cost £3 a ticket. It was really lovely and I would say totally worth it for the atmosphere, grounds and the experience. With a range of great street food stalls available we all indulged in some amazing flavours{I would personally recommend Haloumi Fries and Steamed Bao belly pork buns!}

 I think for us as a family we very much went thinking we would spend a few hours there, get some food and just see what was going on. Living only a mile away also meant that we had walked and had been able to enjoy the very peaceful walk back home at the end of the night as the kids fell asleep in the pushchair. Rob and I were talking about how nice it was having something so close and so good. Don't get me wrong, Lincoln is great for this kind of thing but maybe because of how the kids were {really good} and the fact that we got to spend a few hours with my parents it was really just a lovely night. After all recent atrocities and the general election it was nice to be worlds away from all of that and just be enjoying life in good company, with good food and basking in good weather.
If you are locals and have kids the feast part is perfect, with space to move around, dance, sit and eat. You could even take your own picnic blanket and get a spot on the hill overlooking the whole event which is what we did.

The evening was perfect and a great way to spend a Friday night and being with the locals in a great setting just made the whole thing joyous! it opens at 11am today so head on down!
