A Flair For French Fashion. {A Vertbaudet gift review}

Let's be realistic, we put on a Breton top and feel like we transport ourselves to rural France, where out on the veranda there is a glass of cold, white wine waiting for us to begin our summer evening meal. Fresh, locally sourced food is being prepared and like every other evening we settle down and enjoy the lifestyle of the laid back. Wait, you mean you don't get that feeling when you put on a striped tee? If like me you long for that, then rudely get met by a high washing pile rather than that glass of wine then well, cheers to you! Often in what we put on we actually are longing for something more, whether it stirs a memory or is in preparation for the magic moments, what we wear is often just more than jeans and a tee. It is our comfort or our creations, it gives us what we desire and whether that means pure comfort or serious power, it all stems from the clothes we choose. 

I still pick my kids' clothes. I am not ashamed by that. It's kinda my way or the highway, but a few months ago you may remember I wrote about minimising the kids' wardrobes. It still is working really well and everything I have bought (extremely little amount) slots in perfectly with what they have. Both children have a very blue base and we work from that. It was nice when VERTBAUDET contacted me asking to try out some of their kids clothes. For me, I have learnt to be really conscious of the things I get for my kids. Whether it be with my money or wonderful opportunities for gifts, I have learnt not to overly take, look at what we need and if it doesn't fit in with our life then it would mean it's not for us. VERTBAUDET's popularity in France especially lends itself to our strong wardrobe links to the classic Breton stripe. For me, it is a constant go to. One that cannot be replaced and one every wardrobe needs!! For us, picking some pieces from VERTBAUDET was going to centre around this. For Raph and Etta navy was the base colour and everything worked around that. I am sure you will agree that the outfit choices really work well and not only are they a little salute to the French easy chicness, but for kids, the practicality of the smart jeans and easy stripes makes life much easier. Pull them on and go. The additional cool jackets and fab hats means that they turn a simple striped outfit into something a bit more special! We can all agree the Etta's beret is a show stealer! Beret all the time I say!

As far as good combinations go, red and blue are always a winner and I love to get the children in similar looks for that all important cute factor! With a couple of smarter coats in their collection it really gives them a great option for smarter occasions. We have practical coats but getting a few which are for the smarter occasions are nice as well. 

Footwear was always going to be something practical. Patent boots for Etta and cool trainers for Raph. Dreams. Both suit both characters and both complete these outfits.

The practicality, good washing (yep had to do that already) and the ease of being able to pull on the nice clothes from the drawer independently knowing that it would all go together is my main reason for enjoying these VERTBAUDET clothes. As I have said before, building the kids' wardrobe collection in such a way means that they are in control of what they wear but I know everything will go together in numerous ways.
