HobbyCraft, Elizabeth Scarlett & Paper Mill Studios

I wasn't going to write about this luncheon but I couldn't resist sharing my snaps of my lunch with HOBBYCRAFT down at PAPER MILL STUDIOS in London.

A couple of weeks ago I got the chance to go for a social lunch and be introduced to some of the team at HOBBYCRAFT as a very simple and informal meet up. It was a beautiful lunch where we were not only able to meet other bloggers but also view some of the amazing things HOBBYCRAFT stock, have an art lesson with the very talented ELIZABETH SCARLETT, decorate Cakes and eat the most delicious food from GRAPE AND FIG.
All this took place at the beautiful PAPER MILL STUDIOS which is a creative space in Islington, London. As a space it was everything I love. Industrial old brick posed as the main feature with just ultra cool aesthetics to blend in modern touches. A brilliant space to hire for events like this and it offered a beautiful backdrop to this event.

HOBBYCRAFT recently opened their Lincoln store and I headed down to it with great excitement to see just what was on offer for a creative girl like me. As you would expect, they had almost everything you could think of in store but I was really drawn to visiting their website to find additional treasures and I was not disappointed. HOBBYCRAFT offer a fantastic range of products to help a huge selection of crafters, but it isn't just craft that they now specialise in. They have a fantastic range of party wear and actually even home wears, where some of them you would never have guessed would be stocked in HOBBYCRAFT. It was the luncheon that really opened my eyes as all the decoration, art supplies and cake decorating supplies were all available from HOBBYCRAFT. The table had been decorated so tastefully and everything from the beautiful white balloons, to the artificial flowers, to even the place cards had all been selected from the website.
My eyes were opened and a shop that I associated with re-stocking your craft cupboard had totally transformed.
Since then I am now constantly on the website and just planning little and big projects that will hopefully really push me to be more creative.

With some major fun being had getting creative ourselves with a lesson in watercolour from the lovely ELIZABETH SCARLETT I found myself feeling totally inspired to just be willing to try different creative outlets. What I really liked about ELIZABETH SCARLETT is that she just didn't make getting into art difficult. I absolutely love the simplicity that she uses in her shapes and images and her use of colour and the way she just lets the different mediums of painting work for her. Well, I just found it inspiring. You should check out her WEBSITE as it has some beautiful products.
With the beautifully presented food to top off the whole experience, I found myself reminiscing about this meet up all week. It was a really lovely opportunity and I just feel lucky to have been able to experience something like this.

Hopefully I will be able to share some projects with HOBBYCRAFT soon!
