Weekend away photo album and more pictures of 'That' white dress!

We went down to Devon last weekend to celebrate our nephews; Noah’s 2nd birthday and Jonah’s baptism. The weekend was taken up with lots of partying hosted by my brother and his wife Bunty.
We were blessed with dry weather and were able to spend most of the time outside playing.
It was lovely to get down there. It is such a long drive so needless to say we don't do it often so it was nice to have our effort rewarded with kind hospitality, good food and precious family time!

I thought I would share a little family photo album of the weekend as I got a bit snap happy!

That perfect white dress and empty markethalls!

It’s really hard to say a lot about these photos. This was the most impromptu family fashion photo shoot there has ever been. We were down in Devon for our nephew's baptism and we had gone for a coffee before the service in Barnstable. I wanted my sister to get a full body shot of my pretty dress so we went to stand by a door across the way from the coffee shop. As we got closer though we realised that behind the doors was this amazing empty market hall. I mean, no words at how beautiful it is right? We hollered at rob to bring the kids and here we have it. All of us enjoying the vintage market hall. Just an absolutely stunning venue, even with its own red telephone box. It was perfect for stopping in the moment that was presented to us and capturing it on camera.

Winning Facebook competitions and enjoying the rewards!

Recently I entered a giveaway on Facebook hosted by a very talented seamstress who is producing beautiful children's clothes. Little Feather is a small business that is making bespoke items of clothing in gorgeous styles for little girls. With a range of different clothes and accessories; these beautiful items are in serious demand! And not suprisingly, their cuts and styles are just perfect and the traditional shapes and easy-wear designs are just right for little people exploring the world.
Most of the items are made in Liberty fabrics that are just stunning and Paige really knows how to design outfits that show them off to their full potential.

I entered a giveaway on her Facebook page and was picked out as a winner. I couldn't believe it when I saw my name pop up! This beautiful tunic was made for Etta and I can't say thank you enough to Paige as it is just perfect! You can see from the pictures just how pretty it is! Its colours are beautiful and bold and the fabric is lightweight so perfect for summer and into the autumn I can just put a long sleeved top underneath! With the two mixed fabrics this top is designed beautifully by someone passionate about creating classic children's clothes!

Not only is the sewing impeccable, the sizing and fit is perfect and I can not boast enough about it when people compliment it!
If you would like to view Little Feathers other items why not see her Facebook page. You will be amazed at how beautiful EVERYTHING is! She is a talented lady!

Pretty hair, Clarks shoes and winter coats.

I know right, blogging about winter coats in June but I was too excited to keep it until Autumn! I found this coat on ebay, barely wore, by ASOS and still available on their site at it's full price of £90. I got it for £25! Blooming bargain! I love looking for winter stuff in the summer. Ebay is a great place to catch people selling their winter wardrobe to make space for their summer one and you can find lots of bargains! I was really pleased with this as I was gearing up to spend the money on a cream coat and was chuffed when this came up! Shows that it's always worth keeping your eyes peeled. With skinny jeans, my trusted Clarks trainers and a baggy tee I think I will be wearing this coat at every opportunity before the colder months!

Picnic planning for days out with Brita

Heading into the summer I can only think of one thing; getting outside and enjoying the weather. I love sunny days and time spent out the house. Whether it's out on family picnics, long days on the beach or general trips to the park, as the weather gets warmer there are always a few essentials that need to come out with us. I find that having a bag ready to go for those last minute trips always is a good idea. You only need a few essentials and then you can pick up the fresh bits and be off. I love my extra large Cath Kidston bags; they are always prepped with swim gear and with picnic blankets accessible so it only takes me to pack a picnic and grab the drinks and we are off.
I find one of our biggest concerns is always the sun and having 2 fair-haired little ones always makes us conscious of protecting their skin and keeping them hydrated. It is so easy as adults to forget to drink enough water so for our children, I am sure time goes by without them asking for a drink and we ourselves can forget to give it to them.

When you go out for the day I always worry that the children's drink bottles do not hold enough water. If we are not near somewhere where you can refill them it means carrying around huge bottles that just become heavy. This is where Brita pretty much step up to the plate. Their fill and go bottles are a great size for taking out on day trips and even though they are big for kids, they are easy to hold and drink from. They hold a lot of water and as it is all filtered through the carbon filter in the lids it tastes fresh and makes it enjoyable to drink. I love the practicality of them. Throw them all in a bag and just get on with the day. They really are easy and it is a case of just filling up and going!

With tennis rackets packed and rugs rolled up, I am now hoping for the warm weather and quiet weeks where we can get out and enjoy ourselves. Here's to the outdoors and enjoying what the British summer has to offer!

Thank you to Brita who have gifted us these bottles for our many days out over the summer!
