Tea Towel Apron

Tea Towel Apron

This is the easiest way to make a really cute gift for a friend or loved one. It is so easy and looks so effective.

You will need a tea towel with a pattern that can be put horizontally and not look silly. You will also need a sewing machine, but you can do this by hand; it will just take longer. And also some fabric tape or trimming. I am not sure what it is called. I got mine from Boyes and you usually find it with all the ribbons. It's like a heavy canvas ribbon. Alternatively, you could use a ribbon if you want as it is just to make the band.

You simply get your tea towel and pin the ribbon across the top of the tea towel. Make sure you have even lengths on both sides and it is long enough to tie. 2-3 metres usually covers this.

Then sew down both edges of the ribbon connecting the tea towel and ribbon together.
Turn the ends of ribbon over and sew to stop fraying.

This looks so cute and would make a perfect gift.

I have used a tea towel designed by Sophie Allport. To view her range of beautiful tea towels click HERE!
