I think snakeskin print is fast becoming a firm favourite of mine. I am not scared of wearing animal print but, like most, always favour the leopard because the warm brown tones really suit most of us. This season though snakeskin is firmly “fashionable” with the print appearing on jeans, dresses, bags and shoes so here is an idea for how to wear one of the hardest pieces; snakeskin boots!
I got these boots at the beginning of the year and to be honest have worn them all the time. Even Rob has passed comment on just how much I wear them and who can blame me, they are beautiful! I haven’t written much about them however they have appeared in a previous post styling them with a mac. The thing is, these boots were the antithesis of a kind of boot I hate. I got them on a pure whim after seeing someone else in them but I kinda expected not like them. The thing is, the cut of them was all wrong for me. They definitely are a shoe boot and finish below the ankle bone which just gave me the creeps. Haha. OK that's exaggerated but I just never thought they looked great as really the style of the shoe boot has been around for a very long time!
That all said, they arrived and to my absolute shock they absolutely transformed me. I felt like a fricking boss babe and just loved how they sat. All my prejudgments were gone as soon as I put these on and all I could see was awesomeness!! Again, maybe that reaction seem a little too much but to be honest, these boots went on and have very rarely come off!!
That all said, the other thing I loved about them is that they go with everything! In fact I pretty much replaced all other shoes with these boots. They look great with jeans and a jumper, They work with dresses and tailoring, I mean, they just look brilliant! So I have decided to show 3 ways to wear these boots specifically with old clothes which you may think wouldn’t work with this style.
Print clashing to the max
OK so two different animal prints have come together and created something awesome.

Boots NEW BODEN
I was worried it would all be too much, the jumper is big, the dress underneath is even bigger so with some wild boots thrown in we are looking at an outfit with a lot going on, but really, it’s comfy, it’s dressy and practical for the changing seasons. A midi skirt would work brilliantly as really I am focusing on the length but this pattern clash makes me feel warm and snuggly!

So there is a lot going on here, red florals, brown cord, stonewash jeans, colour pop bag and then the boots. Yeah, actually stonewashed jeans are my least favourite but for a lighter more casual look I love them. However, this outfit is far from casual. I have teamed them with a wrap blouse knowing that the red flowers would work well with the snakeskin and used the brown cord blazer to just soften it all up. The thing is I love the warmer orange/red/brown tones and try and wear them as much as I can. The boots have a tiny bit of red lining poking out so I connected the colours that way. I really love how even though I wouldn’t naturally pick these out together, they pair up well!
Stripes are always a good idea

The thing with stripes is that they and the leopard print can pretty much be worn by all and pretty much go with anything. They are a great contrasting pattern so with a brown suede jacket and the snakeskin boots I have a formula for an outfit that will always work. Black jeans, stripes and the snakeskin boots can be an everyday outfit for me, and this top in particular matches so well!
The thing I have noticed most about my wardrobe whilst shooting these outfits is just about how much brown I wear, I have used it in all three outfits as the main statement colour and feel it just suits me. I think my hair colour helps but as part of understanding my personal dress code, shades of brown seem to be my friend!
I hope you like my ideas on three ways to style up these Snakeskin boots! Have you got any ideas??
